Registration for 2025 is open to Timbercrest residents
Timbercrest residents may register for the 2025 pool season at any time. The limited number of non-resident memberships have already been filled for 2025. See last month’s newsletter for How to become a 2025 member of the Timbercrest Pool
Opening Day
Opening day will be Friday, May 23! Be on the lookout for more info as the date gets closer.
Construction in the 'hood
A single home is being built on the lot at the end of Lance Dr. above the pool. Over the summer there may be construction noise. However, there is a reasonable row of trees between the home and the pool. See the photo for a view of the construction from the pool. Once the construction is completed and the summer brush grows in, the new house will have a similar buffer to the houses that are already along that side of Lance. Most of us probably never even look up at them.

The pool does not have new information about the other developments around the area, but there is a committee under the Timbercrest Neighborhood Association (TNA) monitoring those developments. Pool president, Daine Wright, is a member of the Timbercrest Conservation Committee (TCC).
Donate to upcoming projects: plaster and decking
TRC is saving up for our next big projects: resurfacing the interior of the pool and improving the drainage of the concrete decking. Any donations you make to the pool will help us get there that much faster. You can add a donation to your membership fee or donate at any time following the info on the website: https://timbercrestneighborhood.org/donate
How can you make to pool just that much better?
Every little bit of volunteering and care helps make the pool what it is. Even little actions - like picking up after yourself or skimming the pool when you visit - make the pool more welcoming and make volunteer tasks at the pool easier. We have volunteer jobs for every level of involvement. Some are as quick as doing a 20-minute evening clean up for a week or mowing the grass around the pool area. If you have time for more, consider becoming one of our dedicated committee or board members. Without each and every one of you, we could not have a pool. Selection for volunteer tasks is on the registration form or you can contact the pool board (see Contact Us, below). Thank you and keep it up!
Gift cards are an easy way to help the pool
The pool is part of the Food City gift card program. We earn $5 for every $100 worth of Food City gift cards purchased (while your gift card value is not reduced!). Gift cards are available in $25, $50, or $100 denominations. Contact Greg Locke (865-684-3699) for gift cards for all your summer pool lounging needs.
Throw rings: a new rules and safety reminder column
We will be starting a new column in our newsletters. We’ll call it Throw Rings, after the safety rings stationed about each pool. If you have ideas of what you’d like to see covered around rules and safety, let us know!
In the first installment of Throw Rings, we’ll remind you of the posted rules, regulations, and policies of the pool. Please take a moment to read them as a refresher each year. We have highlighted several rules on a large sign on the pool house. The full list of rules and regulations are posted on the cork board.
Highlighted rules:
- No running or horseplay
- Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult
- No glass containers
- No food in the pool
- Smoking and vaping are prohibited within the pool and park area
- Pets are not permitted within the pool fence
You can read the full Rules & Regulations on the website.
