Timbercrest Pool Newsletter, June 2024

It's the time of year to remind everyone of rules, regulations, and etiquette.

Clean up after yourselves

Pick up after your group, especially food and crumbs, to keep the pool area clean and safe. Members are responsible for their guests. This is your pool. Treat it like your home.

Take a toy? Absolutely enjoy the heck out of it, but then bring it back. All the folks who take care of the pool and do nightly pool cleaning are volunteers. Don't leave it for them to clean up.

Posted rules

Please take a few moments the next time you are at the pool to read the posted signs and rules. Be sure your children read and understand the rules as well. We have rules to make the pool a clean, comfortable, safe, and enjoyable place for everyone.

New board members needed

The pool is a great place to be because of the dedicated volunteers that sustain it from year to year. We are looking for two new board members to join that dedicated team. It is a significant time commitment, but the pool has become a well oiled machine in recent years. Elections are at the end of the pool season. Let Daine Wright know if you are interested in joining the board. He will also reach out to folks who have expressed interest in the past.

There are always many other things that need to be done. There’s a job that is right for everyone! Let us know what you would like to do here at the pool. Thank you for all the hours you have already put into this pool and park.

Donating

You can also volunteer your money. As our pool continues to age, we are faced with various maintenance and beautification projects which are required to ensure that our pool continues to be safe and enjoyable. The dedicated, volunteer board and maintenance committee have been able to frugally accomplish many things in the past 5 years, but these projects are still a significant expense. Even if you are not a pool member, the pool increases your home’s property value. With your donation we can make the pool and our neighborhood nicer.

Gate lock replacement

The TRC board is in the process of replacing the locking mechanism for the gate. The city inspectors have approved the new mechanism. We are now working with a lock company to ensure the replacement is correct. The new lock will re-use the same keys.

Suggestion: air pump

We had a suggestion to provide an air pump for floats and balls. Some one has donated a pump as a nice asset for pool members. However, the pool board has decided not to have a dedicated pump. Be sure to take care of it! It was waterlogged in the kiddie pool Sunday afternoon. Luckily it disassembles for drying. We have seen that communal things tend to wear out quickly.

Survey

The pool board would like to know your opinion about the pool. One way to tell us what you think is to fill out the 2024 Timbercrest Pool Survey: https://forms.gle/Eo4155DE2iX5QyFx8

Everyone is welcome to fill out the survey. We learn a lot, even from those who choose not to join the pool. Contact us for a paper survey.
