Annual member meeting, election, and pool closing 2024

Annual meeting

The Timbercrest Recreation Club (TRC) annual member meeting will be Thursday, September 12, 7:00 PM at the pool.

This meeting is our annual opportunity to summarize the accomplishments of the 2024 season and the goals for the 2025 season. All members will have a discussion of what went well this season and what needs improvement. The board will present their plans of plaster replacement for the pool, including the cost and what is currently set aside for that. The board will give membership, volunteer, and financial reports. Then we will hold the election of board members for the 2025-2026 seasons. Board terms are two years. Finally, we will have an open floor.

Election

This year, two long serving board members are stepping down. Becky Pracheil and Laura Campbell have faithfully and diligently volunteered as vice president and secretary, respectively, for the past six years. From the bottom of my pool, thank you.

Board members Daine Wright, president, and Greg Locke, treasurer, are up for re-election.

The two prospective members for the 2025-2026 TRC Board are Amy Boles and Harriet Bowden.

Amy and her family live on Shenandoah. They have been pool members almost all of the years they have lived in the neighborhood. Amy has volunteered each year, helping with opening, closing, evening cleaning, pool area mowing, and park cleanup.

Harriet lives in nearby Far View Hills. Her family have been members for eight years, the last six consecutively. Harriet and her family can always be found volunteering for opening, closing, evening cleaning, pool area mowing, and park cleanup.

Both Amy and Harriet will be wonderful volunteer members of the pool board. They will help us maintain the high level of quality and communication we have enjoyed at the pool.

Also joining us next year will be Tyler Martindale on the maintenance committee. This is a board appointed position. Tyler is spending time this fall learning the art of pool maintenance from Chris and Andrew, who will continue on as the maintenance committee.

If you are interested in volunteering in a larger capacity, reach out to Daine Wright or reply to this email. We will soon be looking for a Park Ranger to keep an eye on the park and coordinate clean ups.

Pool closing

The last day for the pool season will be for Saturday, September 7th.

Volunteers are needed on Sunday, September 8th, at 9:00am for pool closing tasks. Chairs will be stacked, umbrellas, toiletries, liquids, and medical supplies will be packed away. Pool ladders, rails, and rope will be stowed. The pool will be partially drained, and antifreeze added before the cover is in place. The maintenance committee is discussing possibly running the pump in the off-season to make pool opening easier.

This has been a great pool year. We look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting.
